Maschine was a digital collection created by artist Harm van den Dorpel in collaboration with Fingerprints and Mercedes-Benz. I was invited by arod.studio to collaborate on the design of the digital experience behind the collection's release. The artworks explored ideas around movement, perception, and generative systems through constantly evolving three-dimensional compositions.
The challenge was to design a platform capable of supporting the collection launch through a Dutch auction mechanism while making a complex process accessible to different types of users. Beyond the auction experience, the platform also needed to support additional NFT minting and cashback flows.
The interface was designed to create a clear and intuitive experience that reduced friction throughout the acquisition process while allowing the collection and artworks to remain the focus, communicating auction dynamics and real-time information without overwhelming the user.
The platform supported the launch of the Maschine collection and the acquisition experience for collectors during the release. Since launch, the collection has generated more than 300 ETH in transaction volume.
